Signature Academy
Signature Academy Sdn Bhd was incorporated on 9 April 2014. The company is the wholly owned subsidiary of Signature Cabinet Sdn Bhd (SCSB) which has been in the kitchen cabinet industry for 20 years, and renowned for the ‘SignatureKitchen’ brand, which is the market leader in Malaysia for its kitchen cabinet and wardrobe systems. Being one of the pioneers in spearheading the kitchen cabinet industry, SCSB is able to share its technical expertise in this field of work and understand the challenges the industry faced.
Goals & Objective
As a market leader in the kitchen cabinet industry, we strive to overcome the shortages of qualified skilled workers to support the market growth as the demand for these skilled workers in the kitchen cabinet industry has been overlooked in the market. Hence, Signature Academy Sdn Bhd was formed to address the shortage of these skilled workers in the local industries, and in creating the employment opportunities to the youths of Malaysia.
The objective of the industrial training programme, the Installers Apprentice Programme is to train and produce professional installers, in order to deliver professional services to the kitchen industry. This programme also provides another avenue to the unemployed graduates to seek for an alternate career. The Installers Apprentice Programme also aims to raise the professional image of the kitchen industry.
The programme offers opportunities for the lower academic qualified individuals to acquire living skills (kemahiran hidup) to earn a higher income and to improve their livelihood. Besides helping them to earn a better income, these Group of apprentice equipped with this living skills would also have another avenue to develop their own businesses in the related field in the near future. Having mastered this home improvement related skill, the apprentice is expected to earn between RM3,000 to RM6,000 a month upon graduating from this programme.
Furthermore, the development and grooming of this skilled work force into professional skilled workers will result in a wider recognition and awareness of the importance of kitchen cabinet industry.
The Installer Apprentice Programme is also a concerted effort of Signature Academy to support the Government’s target in achieving 33% of skilled workers in 2015 and 50% by 2020; and last but not least, the Government’s vision in developing Malaysia into a developed nation with self-sustainable economy, with sufficient skilled and talented work force to support the growth of the economy, thus reducing its dependence on foreign workers.
