Dato’ Dr. Mohd Shafei Bin Abdullah

Dato’ Dr. Mohd Shafei Bin Abdullah, aged 56, was appointed to the Board of Signature International Berhad on 13 September 2013. Dato’ Dr. Shafei holds a Bachelor Degree of Economics from University Malaya, a Business Administration from European American University and Certified Doctor of Business Administration (CDBA) from Oxford Association of Management, United Kingdom. He started his career as a teacher in 1979 up to 1982. Later in 1985, he joined a bank as an officer. His political career started in 2003 where he was appointed as a political secretary to the Minister of Defence Malaysia and served until 2008. Subsequently, he served as political secretary to the Minister of Finance up to May 2013.
He is currently the Chairman of the Majlis Kebajikan dan Pembangunan Parlimen Wangsa Maju (Mayang), Trustee for Yayasan Wangsa Perdana, Honourable Advisor for Yayasan Pendidikan Prihatin Malaysia, Advisor for Persatuan Alumni Kolej Ke-3 University Malaya (ETICHA), Advisor for Persatuan Penjaja Wangsa Maju, Chairman for Majlis Pembangunan Pertanian Kawasan Parlimen Wangsa Maju (MPPP) and Chairman for Koperasi Bela Rakyat Parlimen Wangsa Maju (KOBERA). He is also a member of the Nomination and Audit Committee of the Company. He has no family relationship with any Director and/or major shareholder of the Company. Save as disclosed in the Analysis of Shareholdings, he does not hold any shares in the Company and its subsidiary companies. He has not entered into any transaction, whether directly or indirectly, that has a conflict of interest with the Company. He attended three (3) Board meetings during the financial year since his appointment to the Board in September 2013.
